The first official episode of the new Castles and Crusades Planescape campaign "Save Hell." The session introduces three strangers—Aepheus Belamonti, Brunyr Cask-Crusher, and Reginald Sinclair—who awaken trapped in a small, windowless, circular stone chamber illuminated by shifting devilish sigils. They communicate telepathically with a mysterious voice urging cooperation to escape or perish. Each player introduces their character, revealing diverse backgrounds and magical abilities. The dix explore the chamber, discover pressure plates, and find healing potions before stepping onto the plates, which opens a passage to a fiery cavern filled with magical fire motes. They carefully navigate the room, using magical distractions to avoid harm, and proceed to a new chamber where a devil named Nivelin offers a Faustian bargain: help and clues for a price to be paid later. The players cautiously negotiate, accept a boon (a phoenix feather granting protection), and receive a cryptic map of their dungeon. The session ends with the dix preparing to venture further into the dungeon.

From swamp to lava to river
Aepheus, Brunyr, and Reginald awaken together in a tightly enclosed chamber, startled and disoriented. Of the group, Reginald is especially cautious… nearly attacking the others, especially over his introduction with magic when Aepheus draws the Godseye with Mage Hand. After composing themselves and exchanging information, the three prepare to go forward. They find some potions in the starting room, along with three pressure plates which open the way forward. The following passage leads to a chamber with fire plumes and motes, which Aepheus distracts with Dancing Lights. The three bolt toward the exit of the room, held via iron lever, sustaining minimal damage from the fire plumes. The next hallway leads to a wooden paneled room, with a table and set of chairs, of which the seat opposite the entrance a devil sitting in. The devil introduces himself as Nivellen, offering a deal to aid the party to either progress the dungeon, or to achieve grander goals for a higher price. Nivellen the Devil, makes an express contract with Aepheus for a dungeon map and a defensive boon (Phoenix Feather) for a deferred payment of knowledge from Aepheus that cannot be used to unjustly punish or harm innocents beyond the extent of their sin (of conscious affect). Aepheus understands the causal gravity of the contractual obligation shall be equivalent for both parties.
